The Pre-Baby Relationship Playbook

Eight conversations to have before they arrive, so you walk into the first year already knowing how you'll handle it.

A self-paced course for expecting couples, from a postpartum therapist and mom of 2.

Are you really prepared for Baby?

You’ve signed up for the birthing class. There’s a stack of books on your nightstand about what to expect, week by week. You know how big the baby is this week.

All of that prepares you for the baby. Very little of it prepares the two of you.

And the relationship is where so many couples feel it most. Somewhere between the night feeds and the “did you buy more diapers” texts, they start passing each other in the hallway like roommates. Two tired people running a household, missing each other.

This Playbook is the prep for that part. A guided set of conversations you have together now, while you both have the sleep and the space to have them well, so you meet your baby as partners and stay that way.

What Actually Happens After Baby…

There's a lot of research on what happens to couples after a first baby, and one finding surprised me enough that I rebuilt how I teach this.

The thing that drives the drop is not the fighting. It's the warmth thinning out. Nobody decides to stop being affectionate. You're both exhausted, you're both busy, and one week you notice you haven't said anything kind out loud in five days.

The division of labour matters, and we spend a whole session on it. But on its own, it explains less than you'd think.

So this course is built around the thing that actually goes missing, and then around the arrangement that protects it.

What’s Included

  • Before you start, two solo modules. One for the birthing partner, one for the other. Ten minutes each, on your own, because a few of these questions land better if you've met them before your partner asks.

Then eight sessions you do together.

    1. Turning Toward. The small moments the whole thing is built on, and the habit to start tonight rather than when the baby comes.

    2. The Load. The three kinds of work in a home, who's carrying what, and how to divide it before anyone is keeping score.

    3. How We Fight. Your pattern, named, while you're both calm enough to look at it. Plus what you'll say to stop one at 11pm.

    4. Our Team. How you'll make decisions, ask for help, and say no.

    5. What We Carry. How you were each raised, what you want to keep, what you're determined to break. And the method for settling the parenting questions you can't answer yet.

    6. Everyone Else. Family, visitors, opinions, and the boundaries you'll need in the first six weeks.

    7. Sleep, Money, Leave. The three practical ones. Shifts, childcare costs, who takes what time off, and what happens when someone goes back.

    8. Birth and Bodies. What each of you needs in the room, recovery, and what intimacy looks like on the other side.

Two bonus modules. One for couples who've done this before. One for the week someone goes back to work, which is the day most arrangements quietly stop working.

Every session comes with a worksheet, and every session ends with something written down..

WHAT YOU WALK AWAY WITH

  • Your Agreements. One document the two of you build across the eight sessions.

What your appreciation time is. What you say to stop a fight. Who owns which parts of the house. How the nights are split. What you'll say to your mother about visiting. When you'll revisit all of it.

It's the thing you'll pull up at two in the morning in month three, when you can't remember what you agreed and neither of you is in any state to renegotiate.

This is for YOU if…

  • You're expecting, and you'd rather have the hard conversations now to get on the same page.

  • You two are good. This isn't a repair job, it's preparation.

  • You want something you do together, not another book one of you reads alone.

  • You’d like to have thoughtful and necessary dialogue before your baby arrives.

It also works if this isn't your first. There's a bonus module written specifically for second and third-time parents, because almost all prenatal material is written as though everyone is new.

If we haven’t met yet…

I’m Hannah, a licensed therapist with a passion for helping couples find their way back to each other after having kids.

I've spent years in the room with couples working through new parenthood and the postpartum season.

Before any of it was professional, it was personal. My husband and I lived through our own roommate season after our first baby, and the tools that helped us find our way back are the same ones that built this program.

I believe every couple deserves a real path back to each other, not just advice to muscle through it alone. My approach blends clinical training with what I know from living it myself, and I'm here to walk you and your partner through it, together.

The Pricing

The Course — $147

Eight sessions, two solo modules, two bonus modules, every worksheet, and your Agreements document. Yours to keep.

The Course + A Session With Me — $297

Everything above, plus a 60 minute session with the two of us and you, to go through your Agreements together. You book it whenever you want it, before the baby or in the first months after.

Most couples who add it use it near the end, once they've got something written down for me to look at.

Adding the session later is $275 on its own, so it costs less to decide now. There's nothing else to buy, ever.
